Amador Centeno, Trustee
Amador Centeno currently serves as Corporate Director of Facilities Design & Construction for NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. In this capacity, Amador provides strategic and operational responsibility for all phases of design and construction activities, as well as the development and execution of capital project priorities. He leads the planning and execution of the development of NYPH’s new, state-of-the-art cancer care building.
He previously served as Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development and Facilities Management for Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Center. In this capacity, Amador provided enterprise-wide strategic and operational responsibility for all aspects of the Facilities Division, which encompasses Facilities Planning, Real Estate, Design and Construction, Security, Plant Operations, In-House Construction, Environmental Services, Environmental Health and Safety, Housing and Parking, and Lab Operations. He led the planning and execution of the development of MSK’s new, state-of-the-art cancer care Pavilion.
Amador joined MSK from Columbia University, where he served in a variety of senior leadership positions since 2006, including Senior Vice President of Facilities Management, Operations, and Planning. Prior to his time at Columbia, he spent 19 years in leadership roles for three different hospital organizations: Mount Sinai Medical Center, St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, and Beth Israel Medical Center.
He holds a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Iona College and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Lehman College. Amador is active in several industry-related organizations and is bilingual in English and Spanish. Amador enjoys spending time with his wife and children, reading, working out, and attending Broadway shows.
