    Luina Muñoz Bluespruce, Teacher Representative 

    Luina Munoz-Bluespruce and is an academic intervention specialist, focused on reading and early language development. At Amber Inwood she is the TITLE 1 and SETTS provider.

    Her path toward education began while studying at Barnard College. During this time as an undergrad, Luina worked for America Reads, an organization whose goal is to ensure every child can read independently upon completing third grade.

    After graduating from Barnard in 2006, she began teaching at a school in a high performing charter school in the South Bronx. Luina spent the next five years there, teaching kindergarten and first grade. Luina then joined another charter school in the Bronx in 2011, and worked as a Kindergarten teacher for five years. During this time she pursued her graduate studies and received her Masters in Early Childhood Education from The City College of New York. Luina then became a Reading Recovery teacher and reading interventionist, using both Reading Recovery and Orton-Gillingham strategies in her practice. She is now in her 16th year as an educator. 

    Luina has an unwavering commitment to helping students achieve academically, socially, and emotionally. She has lived in Washington Heights since she was 8. Luina has a 5 year old daughter and enjoys traveling, watching tv, and spending time with her family.
